BIO

Armando Queiroz (1968). Sua produção artística abrange desde objetos diminutos até obras em grande escala e intervenções urbanas. Detém-se conceitualmente às questões sociais, políticas, patrimoniais. Cria a partir de observações do cotidiano das ruas, apropria-se de objetos populares de várias procedências, tem como referência a cidade e o Outro. Foi contemplado com a bolsa de pesquisa em arte do Prêmio CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça para as Artes Plásticas 2009-2010. Em 2010, recebeu Sala Especial no 29º Arte Pará como artista homenageado do salão. Em 2011, participa da 16ª Bienal de Cerveira, Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (Portugal) e da III Bienal do Fim do Mundo, Ushuaia (Argentina). Em 2012, é artista convidado do 64º Salão Paranaense. Em 2013, participa da XX Bienal Internacional de Curitiba. Em 2014, participa da 31ª Bienal de São Paulo. Em 2015, participa de exibição de videoarte no Pompidou-Metz (França) e do 19º Festival de Arte Contemporânea SESC_Videobrasil. Em 2016, do Amazonian Video Art em Glasgow (Escócia - UK) e do Festival de Ópera Münchner Staatsoper (Alemanha). Em 2017, participa como artista convidado do projeto Refazenda - Belo Vale-MG, uma parceria entre o Instituto Inhotim e o Iepha-MG; Modos de ver o Brasil - Itaú Cultural 30 anos (SP) e QUEERMUSEU, Santander Cultural (RS). Em 2018, participa do Manjar no Solar dos Abacaxis (RJ) e da exposição Outros Documentos no X Colóquio de Fotografia (PA). Em 2019, participa da exposição Sobre Sonhos, Abismos e Fronteiras – Fotoativa ontem e hoje (Uruguai). Vive e trabalha entre Belém, Rondon do Pará e Belo Horizonte.

Armando Queiroz, 1968. His artistic practice ranges from tiny objects to large-scale works and urban interventions. Conceptually he addresses social, political and heritage issues. He also creates from observations of the daily life of the streets, appropriation of popular objects from various sources and has the city and the Other as a reference. He was awarded the CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça  Award for Art Research 2009-2010. In 2010, he received a Special Room at the 29th Arte Pará Salon as an honored artist of the show. In 2011, he participated in the 16th Cerveira Biennial, Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (Portugal) and the III Biennial at the End of the World, Ushuaia (Argentina). In 2012, he was a guest artist at the 64th Salão Paranaense. In 2013, he participated in the 20th International Biennial of Curitiba. In 2014, he was invited for the 31st Bienal de São Paulo and in next year, he participated in a video art exhibition at Pompidou-Metz (France) and at the 19th Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil. In 2016, his work was presented at Amazonian Video Art in Glasgow (Scotland - UK) and the Münchner Staatsoper Opera Festival (Germany). In 2017, he participated as a guest artist in the Refazenda - Belo Vale-MG project, a partnership between Instituto Inhotim and Iepha-MG; Modos de ver o Brasil - Itaú Cultural 30 anos (SP) and QUEERMUSEU, Santander Cultural (RS). In 2018, he participated in the Manjar at the Solar dos Abacaxis (RJ) and the exhibition Outros Documentos no X Colóquio de Fotografia (PA). In 2019, he took part in the exhibition About Dreams, Abyss and Borders - Fotoativa yesterday and today (Uruguay). Lives and works between Belém, Rondon do Pará and Belo Horizonte.
